Day 1: 12 May (Wednesday) Tokyo
You will stay at the Tokyo Hotel Grand Palace, with your baggage to be
transferred to Kyoto by truck on the 2nd day.

Day 2:
13 May (Thursday) Tokyo - Hakone
You will travel by deluxe motor coach to the foot of Mt. Fuji on Day 2, then
driving halfway up Japan's highest mountain to enjoy a spectacular view from
a height of 2,300 meters. You will lunch at the Hotel Highland Resort.
That afternoon you will visit Hakone for a cruise on Lake Ashi and ride on
the Mt. Komagatake Aerial cableway. |
Day 3:
14 May (Friday) Hakone - Kyoto
You will drive to Odawara to catch the Shinkansen (bullet train) to Kyoto,
where you will be transferred to your hotel in Kyoto. |

Day 1:
22 May (Saturday) Kyoto - Takayama
Take a Shinkansen for Nagoya. Transfer to a limited-express for
Takayama, an ancient, tranquil city called "Little Kyoto." In the
afternoon, stroll through Takayama, visiting Yatai Kaikan Hall, where
colorfully decorated traditional festival floats are displayed; Kusakabe
Folkcraft Museum, formerly the residence of powerful merchants under
government patronage; and the streets of Kami Sannomachi, which preserve
traditional Japanese wooden houses. Accommodation at Hida Hotel Plaza. |
Day 2:
23 May (Sunday) Takayama - Shirakawago - Kanazawa
Visit the famous morning market of Takayama. Scenic drive by Lake
Miboro and along Shokawa River to Shirakawago, designated in 1995 as part of
the World Heritage. Its highlights are unique structures called
Gassho-Zukuri, or joined-hands farmhouses. Then visit Gokayama,
another World Heritage village, where you can experience making Gokayama
Washi, traditional Japanese paper. Continue to Kanazawa.

Day 3:
24 May (Monday) Kanazawa - Tokyo
Morning sightseeing in Kanazawa, visiting Kenroku-en Garden, one of Japan's
three most beautiful traditional gardens; Kutaniyaki Pottery kiln; and a
stroll through the Nagamachi Samurai house district. Afternoon,
limited-express and Shinkansen to Tokyo. Transfer to major hotels in
Tokyo, arriving around 19:45. |
