ISMRM will be conducting a reconstruction challenge for the 2010 annual meeting in Stockholm.  Participants download data, and submit their reconstructed images for a panel of expert radiologists to compare.  Three challenges are available:

1.  Need for Speed.  A dynamic projection X-ray data of a bolus injection was used to generate MR angiography data set, using several different (temporally undersampled) trajectories.  Pick your favorite trajectory, and try to keep up with X-ray, if you dare!

2.  Double Vision.  A set of axial fat-sat images were taken through the lower abdomen using a short ADC, Cartesian set.  With a collected B0 field map, data for several long-ADC, non-Cartesian data sets were generated with off-resonance corruption.  Can you clear things up?

3.  Piece of the Puzzle.  A high-resolution image of a (static) knee was obtained, and participants are given roughly 20% of the data using one of several trajectories.  With an 8-coil array helping you out, can you fill in the missing pieces?

Anyone may download data from this site and submit their reconstructed images for the contest. To be considered as a finalist, applicants must register for the 2010 annual meeting.  A panel of expert Radiologists will compare the images, and choose a winner in each of the three categories.  These will be presented during the Wednesday morning plenary session.  Winners will each be offered a chance to give a 1-slide, 1-minute presentation of their method during the plenary.

To participate, follow these steps.

1.  Please see the detailed instructions, or click here to download the instructions in .pdf format.  You may want to read this before proceeding.

2.  If you still have questions, please see the FAQ page (last updated November 19), or click here to download the FAQ's in .pdf format (last updated November 19).  Please check this FAQ frequently, as it will be updated.  Questions not answered by this FAQ may be emailed to jim.pipe@chw.edu  (please put RECON CHALLENGE in the subject line), and answers will be given in the next updated FAQ.

3.  Download the data of your choice for the challenge you are interested in (see below).    Please check this site again later, as there may be additional trajectories posted for the different challenges in the next few weeks.  As stated in the FAQ, you may compete in as many challenges as you wish, and with as many data sets as you wish, but different data sets for the same challenge may not be combined in any way.

4.  In October or November, a method for submitting your results will be posted on this website.  The due date for final submissions will be Wednesday, 13 January 2010, 23:59 EST.
