OVERVIEW
This 2-hour course is a part of the Clinical Intensive Neuro Course and will focus on imaging patients after a stroke, with emphasis on brain plasticity. The speakers are physicians that are expert in their field. The topics covered are divided into 4 lectures:
Update on stroke imaging;
Changes in default mode network post stroke (fMRI);
Changes in DTI post stroke; and
Image-guided therapies and rehabilitation.
 
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this course participants should be able to:
Be aware of the advances in MRI that can be implemented in clinical practice to evaluate stroke and recovery;
Have knowledge of the role of MRI in acute and post stroke imaging;
Understanding the changes that occur on DTI post stroke; and
Be aware of the role of MRI in image-guided post-stroke therapies.
 
AUDIENCE DESCRIPTION
This course is designed for physicians who are interested in learning more about or updating their knowledge of post-stroke MRI for their daily routine practice of neuroradiology.
