OVERVIEW
Numerous impingement syndromes occur around the body: these can be osseous, osteocartilagenous, fibro-osseous or neural in origin. These syndromes and their MR imaging appearance will be presented as they manifest in the shoulder, hip, ankle and peripheral nerves.

This course is directed primarily to clinicians interested in enhancing their knowledge and learning up-to-date information regarding impingement syndromes of the musculoskeletal system and their MR imaging appearance.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Identify factors leading to the development and progression of impingement disorders of the shoulder, hip, ankle and nerves;
  • Implement MRI techniques in clinical practice for the diagnosis of patients with impingement disorders of the shoulder, hip, ankle and nerves; and
  • Utilize MRI techniques in clinical practice to assess the success or failure of surgical treatment for patients with impingement disorders of the shoulder, hip, ankle and nerves.
