SUNRISE EDUCATIONAL COURSE
Cardiac MRI: A Dialogue Between a Radiologist & a Physicist
SKILL LEVEL: Basic
ORGANIZERS: Daniel B. Ennis, Ph.D. & Ian Marshall, Ph.D.
Tuesday, 13 May 2014

OVERVIEW
This sunrise course will provide the participants with an overview of cardiac and vascular MRI in an interactive setup between a radiologist and a physicist on Tuesday and Wednesday. The radiologist will describe which clinical question he wants to answer and the physicist will describe which technique is suited best for that. During this 45 minutes session both speakers will have a conversation on stage instead of two separate presentations. On Thursday three speakers will give lectures on emerging techniques not yet completely established in clinical routine.

TARGET AUDIENCE
The course is designed for both scientists and physicians with an interest in cardiovascular MRI. No basic knowledge of cardiovascular MRI is needed, however, basic knowledge of MRI in general is advised.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

As a result of attending this course, participants should be able to:

  • Develop a comprehensive clinical cardiac MRI exam and understand the technical basis;
  • Tailor a cardiac MRI exam to a specific clinical question; and
  • Integrate new techniques into an existing protocol.
