WEEKDAY EDUCATIONAL COURSE
Cardiac MRI: Clinical Challenges
SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate
ORGANIZERS: Daniel B. Ennis, Ph.D. & Victor A. Ferrari, M.D.
Tuesday, 13 May 2014

OVERVIEW
This six-hours course over three days will present cardiovascular MRI beyond the established protocols for cardiac and vascular MRI as well as imaging at higher field strength.

The Tuesday session will cover cardiac MRI apart from the standard morphological and functional workup, e.g. evaluation of the right ventricle, myocardial micro-structure as well as myocardial metabolism.

TARGET AUDIENCE
This 3-part coursed is designed to appeal to researchers and clinicians with at least basic knowledge in cardiac MRI. The content of the course is appropriate for radiologists, cardiologists and basic researchers.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

As a result of attending this course, participants should be able to:

  • Recognize the pros and cons of high field cardiovascular MRI;
  • Improve their use of MRI for imaging the left and the right ventricle; and
  • Evaluate myocardial late Gd enhancement, tissue micro-structure and metabolism.
