SUNRISE EDUCATIONAL COURSE
Neuroimaging: Vascular
SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate to Advanced
ORGANIZERS: Jonathan H. Gillard, M.D., FRCR, MBA & Howard A. Rowley, M.D.
Thursday, 04 June 2015

OVERVIEW
The diagnosis and management of intracranial aneurysms and vascular malformations is complex. This course will describe the main clinical entities, what the neurosurgeon and neurointerventionalist require, and the contributions that MR can make to diagnosis and management. This course will describe the spectrum of changes seen in dementias initially from a clinical perspective and then from an MR imaging perspective exploring the added value of multiparametric MR.

TARGET AUDIENCE
Physicists and clinicians involved in the evaluation and care of intracranial aneurysms and vascular malformations.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Identify MR methods to categorize the spectrum of aneurysms and vascular malformations in the brain;
  • Explain the MR protocols used to evaluate treatment response of aneurysms and AVMs; and
  • Interpret features and artifacts of MR images used to diagnose and manage AVMs and aneurysms.
