ISMRM 23rd Annual Meeting & Exhibition • 30 May - 05 June 2015 • Toronto, Ontario, Canada

WEEKEND EDUCATIONAL COURSE
Clinical Interpretation & Advanced Imaging
SKILL LEVEL: Basic to Advanced
ORGANIZERS: William B. Morrison, M.D., Ravinder R. Regatte, Ph.D., & Siegfried Trattnig, M.D.
Sunday, 31 May 2015

OVERVIEW
The course will provide an in-depth discussion of how to perform , interpret and report MSK MRI of different organs in the morning session. Advanced imaging methods will be discussed in the afternoon including rapid MRI, DCEMRI, neurography, MRS, tumors, UHF and suppression of metal artifacts. Each lecture will focus on specific topic and discuss the clinical pathophysiological features towards translational path.

TARGET AUDIENCE
This course is designed for radiologists, medical physicists, clinician scientists and clinical care providers who wish to update their knowledge on the use, interpretation, generate reports and diagnosis of various MSK diseases Implement, optimize and translate the emerging MRI methods for interpretation of MSK MRI.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Recognize the the differences between 1.5T and 3.0T image contrast, SNR and CNR use optimal coils and protocols based on the field strength and imaging joint;
  • Measure and quantify the regions of interest (ROIs) for quantitative measurements; and
  • Recognize emerging quantitative MRI techniques for assessment of various skeletal diseases.
