Role: MRI physicist to develop pulse sequences and/or translate sequences into pre-clinical patient trials, as well as develop catheter-mounted micro-RF components. Project focus is (40%) hyper-polarized 129Xe imaging of lung & brain physiology, and (60%) vascular intervention. The imaging focus is on sequences requiring <20 sec acquisitions, and encompassing non-Cartesian k-space sampling. The RF design focus is on imaging coils at the distal end of catheters which will provide >10x SNR gain versus surface coils. Collaborative work with a large group
of imaging professionals working on NIH-funded pulmonary disease and
image-guided therapy projects, using GE and Siemens 1.5T & 3T
clinical/research scanners. |
