JOB TITLE: Research Fellow in Neuroimaging and Multiple Sclerosis at Brigham and Women's Hospital - Harvard Medical School

GENERAL SUMMARY/OVERVIEW STATEMENT:

Full-time post-doctoral research fellow with imaging/physics background needed for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies examining the imaging correlates of neurologic impairment in patients with multiple sclerosis.
Responsibilities include design and refinement of MRI acquisition scanning protocols at 1.5T and 3T. The fellow will also support software analysis and segmentation of advanced imaging data, such as diffusion tensor, MR spectroscopy, magnetization transfer, voxel-based morphometry, and relaxometry. A two-year commitment is required beginning on or after August 1st, 2008.

Salary will be commensurate with experience.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Excellent computer skills, familiarity with Windows and Unix
- Strong background in MRI acquisition, pulse sequence programming, and segmentation
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with basic neuroanatomy or neurology
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to identify potential problems and develop solutions
- Ability to work with others

QUALIFICATIONS:
M.D., Ph.D., or equivalent
Willing to accept a full time two year commitment

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Normal laboratory conditions
