Postdoctoral Fellow - Memorial Sloan
Kettering
Postdoctoral fellow positions in the NMR section of the Dept. of
Medical Physics are available. The In Vivo NMR Laboratory
investigates uses of magnetic resonance for studying tumor
metabolism, pharmacology and responses to treatment. These studies
include both preclinical (cells and small animals) and clinical. In
particular, the focus of the candidate would be on molecular imaging
and choline metabolism, hypoxia or fluoropyrimidine metabolism.
These projects are done in collaboration with strong radiobiology
and nuclear medicine programs and there is significant interaction
between the different laboratories.
The candidate should have a strong background in MR physics and
programming and an interest in the biology of cancer and will
interact with scientists and clinicians in multiple departments. The
facility is well equipped with both a 7.0T 30 cm and 4.7T 40 cm bore
horizontal magnets with a 9.4T in the process of being purchased,
five General Electric Signa 1.5T systems, a 3.0T system, a well
equipped electronics laboratory and multiple linked SUN
workstations. Other facilities include a MicroPET, IVIS
bioluminescence imaging, MicroCT and MicroSPECT. Collaborations with
other molecular imaging laboratories at MSKCC are possible. Salary
commensurate with experience. Contact Dr. J. A. Koutcher (koutchej@mskcc.org)
