QUALIFICATIONS:

*MSc/Diploma in Physics, Electrical Engineering or a related subject

*Strong physics and mathematics background

*Must have adequate academic credentials to be accepted into the TUM PhD program

*Excellent university grades


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Hyperpolarized 13C metabolic imaging is a novel technique to investigate the metabolism in real time with magnetic resonance imaging. You will be involved in methodological developments, requiring a deep physical understanding. You will be collaborating with a team of experienced scientists from the MR group at GE, the Nuclear Medicine and Chemistry departments at TUM, get unique access to latest hardware, as well as an extensive internal and external network of collaborating sites. The European GE Global Research Center provides an excellent infrastructure for conducting cutting-edge research.

*Conduct cutting-edge research in hyperpolarized 13C metabolic imaging. That includes investigation, utilisation and implementation of: MR pulse sequences; quantum physical effects; metabolic turnover models; MR hardware (RF coils)

*Present results at international conferences, in peer-reviewed scientific journals, and at internal reviews

DESIRED:

*Background in MRI, NMR

*Programming/computer skills (Matlab, C, Linux, etc)

*MRI pulse sequence programming skills

*Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

*Basic knowledge of German

*International / global experience

*Start date: as soon as possible
