Magnetic Resonance Technologist

The National Institute on Aging (NIA)/MedStar Research Institute (MRI) is seeking a magnetic resonance (MR) technologist to provide clinical research support for NIA research studies conducted at Harbor Hospital in Baltimore, MD. The mission of the NIA is to improve the health of older Americans by supporting and conducting research on the processes of aging, on age-related diseases, and on the special health problems and needs of the aged. The NIA Intramural Research program conducts and supports biomedical and social and behavioral research and training.

The primary responsibility will be to operate the newly purchased Philips 3T Achieva system doing structural and functional MRIs in a research-dedicated environment. The technologist will work under the direction of an MRI scientist with a team of clinical scientists to develop and implement state-of-the-art imaging techniques investigating age-related changes in cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, neuro-cognitive and other body systems.

Previous MRI experience in the clinical environment is necessary; previous research experience is highly desirable. ARRT certification is desired.
