Postdoctoral Biophysicist Position at the
Brain Imaging Center, McLean Hospital
A postdoctoral biophysicist position is available in the Translational
Imaging Laboratory at the Brain Imaging Center, McLean Hospital, in
Belmont, Massachusetts. The Brain Imaging Center currently operates 1.5
T General Electric Signa, 3T Siemens Trio, and 4T Varian Inova systems,
and a Varian Direct Drive MRI 9.4T animal scanner.
The Translational Imaging Laboratory conducts 9.4T MRI, fMRI, and
spectroscopy studies in animals ranging in size from adult rhesus
monkeys to transgenic mice. The biophysicist will develop and implement
fMRI and spectroscopy methods in these animal species and support
ongoing research in animal models of addiction, neurodegenerative, and
psychiatric disorders.
The position requires completion of doctoral (Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D.)
training in MR physics along with research experience on high field
systems, including pulse programming and image processing. Prior
experience with Varian systems is highly desirable.
The successful applicant will be proposed for academic appointment as a
Research Fellow, Department of Psychiatry, Harvard Medical School.
