Postdoctoral Fellow in fMRI Analysis
MIND/UNM, Albuquerque, NM, USA
Posted: 9 September 2008

A postdoctoral fellowship position is currently available in Dr. Calhoun’s laboratory (see http://mialab.mrn.org) at The Mind Research Network (MRN) and the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of New Mexico. The MRN houses a dedicated Siemens TIM Trio 3T MRI scanner and two 1.5T MRI scanners in addition to MEG, EEG, and a genetics lab. This position will focus on the development and application of signal processing techniques and software for functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) data of psychiatric patients. Of particular focus will be developing algorithms based upon the incorporation of prior information within a source separation framework (independent component analysis, canonical correlation analysis, etc). The ideal candidate will have experience with image/signal processing, will be eager to learn about fMRI, and is looking for an opportunity in a richly interdisciplinary research center. In addition to working on ongoing projects it is expected that the individual will pursue his/her own research interests. Our ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in engineering, mathematics, statistics, or related field. Prior expertise in fMRI preferred, but not required.
