Postdoctoral Positions in Medical Imaging - "Training in Quantitative MRI"
The University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, Philadelphia, PA, USA
Posted: 28 October 2008

Postdoctoral positions in magnetic resonance imaging, funded by Training Grant T32 EB000814 ("Training in Quantitative MRI", National Institutes of Health), will be available in the Department of Radiology at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center. Research in the various preceptors' laboratories focuses on the development and application of quantitative MRI methods to the study of organ structure, function and physiology in laboratory animals and humans, including pulse sequence design, image reconstruction, processing and analysis and mathematical modeling.

The Department of Radiology's Center for Advanced MR Imaging and Spectroscopy (CAMRIS) accommodates multiple whole-body MRI research scanners operating at 1.5, 3 and 7T field strength, designed for patient related research, as well as various small-bore systems for specimen and animal studies ranging from 4.7 to 9.4T field strength.

Candidates should have an advanced degree (Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D.) in bioengineering, biophysics, physics, chemistry, or electrical engineering.  Applicants with hands-on experience in MR imaging or spectroscopy data acquisition and processing methods, MRI hardware, or advanced applications are given preference but such prior training is not a requirement for being considered. NIH Training Grantee candidates must be U.S. citizens or have permanent resident status ("green card" holders).

The University of Pennsylvania is an equal opportunity employer and candidates of underrepresented minorities are particularly encouraged to apply.
