Two post-doctoral scholar positions are available in the Department of Radiology and the Brain Research Imaging Center (BRIC) at the University of Chicago. One position is open immediately and it is sponsored by section of neurosurgery to study drug infusion and hydrocephalus using DTI and perfusion techniques. The second position will be open in March 2009 and will be supported by a DOD grant to develop DTI methods for studying brain traumatic injury. Applicants are required to have a Ph.D. in Physics, Medical Physics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field. The ideal candidates should have experience with MRI research. Experience with diffusion tensor imaging is desirable.

The University of Chicago has a leading medical physics research faculty (with a strong interest in imaging) and an outstanding neuroscience research program as well. This will create exciting opportunities for an imaging scientist to develop productive collaborations with neuroscientists. The MRI research center at the University of Chicago has two research-dedicated whole-body Philips scanners (1.5 T and 3T) and a 9.4T Bruker animal MRI system.

The University of Chicago is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity employer.
