Research Associate/ Postdoctoral Fellow in MRI
Stanford University, Stanford, CA, USA
Posted: 16 March 2009

Three Research Associate/Post-doctoral positions (dependent upon qualifications) in MRI are available immediately at Stanford University in the Department of Radiology, Radiological Sciences Laboratory (RSL), with a special focus on:

• stereovision-based real-time adaptive motion correction
• parallel transmit/receive methods at high field
• advanced diffusion and perfusion methods for neuroimaging

The RSL at the Lucas Center for MR Spectroscopy and Imaging is home for 14 faculty and approximately 80 researchers and houses four human MRI systems fully dedicated to research (a GE Signa 1.5T system, 2 GE 3T systems, and a GE Signa 7T system), and ancillary laboratory facilities. Additionally, the Stanford hospital has four 1.5 T GE Signa systems, and four 3T GE Signa systems.

Successful candidates will have opportunities to interact with faculty from throughout the Hospital and the University, including the MRSRL at Stanford EE. Candidates must have completed a Ph.D. in engineering, physics, computer sciences, or a related field from an approved doctoral program. In addition, candidates must have prior MR experience including either MR pulse sequence development (e.g. EPIC, IDEA) or image reconstruction (e.g. ICE). Alternatively, candidates are considered who demonstrate a profound expertise in computer
graphics (stereovision & camera arrays, computational photography & light fields) and optics (fiberoptics, silicon lenses).

Knowledge of computer languages should include C or C++. Proficiency in Matlab, IDL, Perl, Python, as well as VTK/ITK and CUDA programming is a plus. Experience in image analysis, statistics, and project management is also desirable.

Stanford University is an equal opportunity employer. The Stanford University Medical School is committed to increasing representation of women and members of minority groups and encourages all qualified candidates to apply.
