A postdoctoral position is available in the Invivo MR Laboratory in the department of Medical Physics at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center; Manhattan, New York.

The MR Laboratory performs preclinical and clinical studies of tumor metabolism and angiogenesis, treatment response as well as drug pharmacokinetics using multi nuclear MRI and MRS. The position will primarily focus on proton MR imaging and spectroscopic methods and quantification. These include DCE-MRI, DWI-MRI, lactate imaging and choline metabolism using breast xenografts. The candidate should have a strong background in MR physics with small animal handling experience. Experience with Matlab programming and building MR coils would be advantageous.

Collaborations with people in clinical or other preclinical investigators at MSKCC are possible.

The small animal imaging research facility is equipped with a 7.0T 30 cm and 4.7T 40 cm bore horizontal Bruker MR scanners. Five GE Signa 1.5T MR systems, a 3.0T system are available for clinical MR studies. In addition, the MR laboratory has a well-equipped electronics laboratory, multiple linked computer workstations, and cell culture laboratory.
