Post Doctoral MR Physicist in Arterial Spin Labelled Mapping

ACADEMIC-RELATED RESEARCH STAFF GRADE 7:

Salary £28,839 - £35,469 p.a.

A postdoctoral appointment is available in the Oxford University Centre for Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging of the Brain (FMRIB), based at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. The position is supported by a grant from the Medical Research Council and is funded from June 1st 2009 for three years. The post holder will develop state-of-the-art magnetic resonance imaging acquisition strategies for quantitative mapping of cerebral blood flow and blood volume. The methods will then be validated against PET and applied to physiological and patient studies. The post would be suited to someone with qualifications and experience as an MR physicist, ideally with strong pulse programming knowledge. The work will be conducted using the University of Oxford’s new 3 Tesla human MRI scanner and will be in collaboration with the GSK Clinical Imaging Centre.
