Postdoctoral Position in Pre-clinical and Interdisciplinary Research of Brain Plasticity

A postdoctoral position is available in the Unit of Brain Plasticity, Laboratory of Integrated Biology (LBI), NeuroSpin, CEA, Saclay, France (http://www-dsv.cea.fr). The main goal of our project is to investigate brain plasticity after injuries using rodent models. We will apply interdisciplinary approaches to understand how the brain gains new responses and rewires its connections after injuries. Methods include functional and diffusion MRI techniques, multi-unit electro-physiological recordings, behavioral evaluations, and post-mortem histology.

Located in the suburb of Paris, the ultra-high field MRI center, NeuroSpin, offers state-of-the-art animal imaging platform with Bruker 7T and 17T MRI systems, and is equipped with multi-channel electrophysiology recording/stimulation systems and histology facilities. We offer the great opportunity for the integrated, multidisciplinary research experience.

Candidate must have experience in small animal MRI imaging, and must have acquired a Ph.D. in the appropriate discipline including neuroscience, biomedical engineering or relevant discipline. Skills in MR physics and computer programming (Matlab or IDL) are advantageous.

French language is appreciated but not required.

Salary is provided by an ANR grant (Agency Nationale de la Recherche) and includes health insurance and complete social security coverage.
