Site Security Information

The ISMRM/SMRT is committed to providing the most secure Internet service through the use of security and encryption technology.  When you interact with the ISMRM, all the information is encrypted or encoded so that it cannot be read or intercepted by other people.  Specifically the secured pages on this site are secured with 128-bit encryption.  A secure page is any Web document sent from a server to a browser in an encrypted form that is intended to be unreadable by anything or person apart from the server and browser in question.   Encryption is a procedure for converting information into a code or cipher so that people will be unable to read it.  128-bit encryption is the strongest form of Web browser encryption commonly available for use on the Internet.  It provides a high level of security and privacy for our users.  Your browser (Internet Explorer or Netscape) should indicate whether or not a page you are viewing is secure.  Find the padlock in the lower left- or right-hand corner of your screen.  If the lock is closed, you are viewing a secure page.  If the lock is open, the page is not secure.   If you double-click or right-click this padlock, you will view information regarding the security of the page you are viewing and any certificates attached to the site.  The ISMRM Web site provides such secure communication and has a valid certificate.  The certificate is a statement guaranteeing the security of this Web site and contains information that a specific Web site is authentic. This ensures that no other site can assume the identity of the original site.
