This two-hour course is a joint collaboration between the ISMRM and SMRT, and is designed to showcase the unique contribution each society brings to the clinical field of magnetic resonance. It aims to begin the process of helping establish clear guidelines for the use of Diffusion Tensor Imaging in the clinical arena, and includes contributions from MD's, scientists, technologists/radiographers and clinicians working in the field of MR. The principal topic to be covered is diffusion tensor imaging in the brain. The overall goal of this session is to begin a dialog to help produce clinical guidelines for the use of this method in the clinic. The format will include presentations, point-counterpoint discussion and debate from the panel and the floor.
