MR Technologists and Radiographers Invited to Share Their Work

Sheryl Foster, MHSc.(MRS)(MRI)
2014 Chair, Education Committee

“It is really worth considering being a part of this process in the future; for many of our members this is their first taste of being a published author in the SMRT Conference Proceedings.”

The deadline for 2014 abstract submissions to the 23rd Annual meeting in Milan, Italy has now passed and the Education Committee members are currently deeply engrossed in the process of scoring the large number of submissions – around 64 at last count, which is well in excess of the total numbers received for the Salt Lake City meeting in 2013. Thank you to all who took the time to submit their work for peer review, a process which may seem quite daunting but can also be very rewarding and beneficial from an educational perspective.

Authors should expect to hear from the Education Committee by the end of January, 2014 regarding the outcome of the scoring process. At that time, those authors whose prize-winning submissions have been chosen for oral presentations in Milan will be notified so that they have adequate time to prepare. All remaining authors will be invited to submit an electronic version of their completed posters by February 21st in order to be eligible for one of the very worthwhile poster prizes. Those who have not submitted their posters for scoring must submit a PDF copy of their completed poster for inclusion in the Meeting Syllabus by March 10th. It is really worth considering being a part of this process in the future; for many of our members this is their first taste of being a published author in the SMRT Conference Proceedings.

In the meantime, all prospective meeting attendees should register online and browse through the accommodation choices made available by the Housing Department. Remember to register during the Early Bird period before March 19th, after which the regular Registration fees will apply.

We look forward to seeing as many of our colleagues as possible in Milan for a great educational experience in a very beautiful country.
