The SMRT logo was first approved by the Policy Board in1992. There have been minor revisions since then.

Quarterly issues of the Signals Newsletter began in 1993 with black and white issues mailed to members.

The SMRT became a member of the Associated Sciences Consortium of the RSNA in 1997 during the Presidency of Karol Handrahan. Luann Culbreth was the first SMRT representative to the consortium.
