ARRT Approves Track and Transfer for SMRT

Heidi Berns, M.S., R.T. (R)(MR), FSMRT
Chair, RCEEM (Recognized Continuing Education Evaluation Mechanism) Committee

“We are happy to report that the ARRT approved the SMRT application.”

The SMRT has received great news from the ARRT:

“At a recent meeting, the ARRT Board of Trustees considered the application from the Section for Magnetic Resonance Technologists (SMRT) to become a Recognized Limited Service Record Keeper for Electronic Transfer of Continuing Education (CE) Activities. We are happy to report that the ARRT approved the SMRT application. SMRT may record the activities that it sponsors and also may record the activities of other CE sponsors as long as the activity has gone through SMRT’s Recognized Continuing Education Evaluation Mechanism (RCEEM) process. Additionally, ARRT will now allow Category A CE activities that SMRT has approved and verified the attendance of to be electronically transferred to ARRT.”

The SMRT hopes that members find this benefit to be valuable and once established with this process, will work toward Full Service Recordkeeping in the future.
