This award was established to honor the memory of John A. Koveleski, SMRT President 2002-2003, in recognizing the need for MR professional development of students and new entrants in the field of MR.

My name is Kelsey Wineland, CNMT, RT(MR) and I am a recent graduate from the University of Cincinnati. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Advanced Medical Imaging Technology with certificates in Nuclear Medicine and Magnetic Resonance Imaging. During my final college semester, I had the opportunity to travel to Copenhagen, Denmark and Lund, Sweden to study MRI. While over there, my classmate and I completed a research study and abstract titled "Comparison of Functional MRI Activation between Finger Tapping and Motor Imagery Finger Tapping” that won us the SMRT John A. Koveleski Award for Professional Development. I am currently working as an MRI Technologist at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.
