The SMRT would like to announce the formation of the John A. Koveleski Student Stipend Award. This award will be given annually to an MR technologist student based on their submission of a Student Scope(s).

Eligibility: To be eligible for the John A. Koveleski Student Stipend Award an applicant must be an MR technologist student and have submitted a Student Scope paper in the past 12 months. The Student Scope should have passed review and is to be posted on the SMRT website at:  http://www.ismrm.org/smrt/scope/

Application Procedure:

·         Complete the John A. Koveleski Student Stipend Award application.

Include two letters of recommendation: one letter from student’s education coordinator and one letter from student’s supervising radiologist, supporting clinician and/or SMRT member

·         Completion of a posted Student Scope on the SMRT Website within the past year (beginning 01 January 2007)

·         Deadline for Student Stipend Application submission – Must be received in the SMRT Business Office by the close of business of 31 December 2007.

Student Stipend Award Description:

The recipient of the John A. Koveleski Student Stipend Award will receive:

·         One full year (2008) of SMRT Membership (non voting) including the Educational Seminars Home Study benefit;

·         The Choice of one waived registration fee for either the SMRT Annual Meeting or an SMRT Regional Educational Seminar (of choice). This registration must be taken within the Award year (2008);

·         If not able to attend the SMRT Annual Meeting or a SMRT Regional Seminar,  then the Macro Media Flash Program of the SMRT Annual Meeting will be made available as an alternative option; and

·         Travel stipend 

The John A. Koveleski Student Stipend Award will be announced the second Monday in February allowing the successful applicant time to plan for attending the SMRT Annual Meeting. The recipient will also be honored at the SMRT Annual Meeting during the Awards Luncheon Ceremony.  In addition, the winning recipient will be announced in the SMRT Signals Newsletter.

Note: Only complete applications, submitted on time, will be processed for the award. Only one award will be presented per year.
