Position Description:
This is a full-time position including evening and weekend shifts. Position is supervised by the Laboratory Director to complete magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) protocols and procedures for research and clinical purposes.

Required Qualifications:
• ARRT Certified.
• 2 years MRI experience.
• CPR

Preferred Qualifications:
• Advanced MRI Course.
• Neurological research background.

Tasks required of this position:
• Performs MRI procedures: includes selecting techniques and calibrating equipment, obtaining images, instructing and managing patients, IV initiation and maintenance, patient assessment.
• Participates in the execution of MRI and associated research procedures and techniques and in the effective and safe operation of facilities and equipment.
• Coordinates and conducts scientific imaging experiments, clinical trials and data collection procedures requiring independent judgment and evaluation, selection, and modification of standard scientific techniques.
• Maintains and modifies complex MRI systems and equipment, as necessary; analyzes and/or applies specialized techniques and approaches to resolving unforeseen and unusual problems.
• Completes paperwork necessary for clinical trials, billing and records.
• Collects, analyzes and interprets data, ensuring data integrity, quality control, and compliance with protocol.
• Archives data and assists in maintaining all imaging files and data;
• Maintains inventory for research and clinical visits.
• Participates as an active member of the HBIC staff by attending staff meetings. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in the neuro-imaging field.
• Maintains positive relations with investigators, physicians and other healthcare professionals.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.


Length of Appointment: Unclassified Health Care Worker subject to the regulations of the State of Kansas, the Board of Regents and the University of Kansas Medical Center.
