Dear Signals readers,

The first discussion question for the new MR Manager’s Corner is now available for your thoughts and consideration. There is a wide variation in daily operations of MRI sites depending on the type of facility and the location. A lively discussion on this timely topic is expected.

During the past quarter of 2011 the SMRT has been preparing for the upcoming Annual Meeting as well as producing educational opportunities for MR Technologists and Radiographers. Carol Lee, 2011 Program Committee Chair has led the effort to make the 20th Anniversary of the SMRT a real celebration. Abstract submissions have been reviewed and scored by the Education Committee chaired by Maryanne Blaine. Many hours of volunteer work is needed by these two committees to provide quality educational information and the chance for you to meet with your colleagues from around the globe. It is not too late to make plans to travel to Montreal, Canada and partake of this worthwhile event.

Newly elected Policy Board members and Officers will assume their respective terms at the Annual Meeting. Information is posted in Signals News for you to know who will help lead your professional organization into the future. SMRT recognizes those individuals who have made significant contributions. The recipients receive their awards at the meeting. A brief business meeting, conducted between the didactic sessions, gives members and potential members to ask questions, and voice comments about the SMRT.

The Signals News provides reports of Local, Regional and Global news as it occurs. The Education Seminars home study series will continue to be described and MRI Safety updates will continue to be posted as well as other information pertinent to the daily practice of MRI.

As always your suggestions for topics and features are welcome.

Happy Reading!
