Airport
The primary airport for Amsterdam is Schiphol (AIMS), Luchthaven Schiphol. It is located 20 minutes southwest of Amsterdam. It is readily accessible to public transportation including the train which is located within the terminal.

Public Transportation
From Schiphol Airport, you can catch the train, rent a car, or take the Connexxion Shuttle Bus (service fee) directly to the hotel. The NH Barbizon Palace is located opposite Amsterdam Centraal Station and is approximately 23 minutes from the airport by train. The average fare for travel by train to Centraal Station is €5.00 one way. The train is by far the easiest and most reliable way to arrive at Amsterdam Centraal Station. Service fee for the Connexxion bus is €17.00 one way per person.

Taxi
When travelling by taxi expect to pay around €50 - €60 each way from the airport to most places in the city center. The good news is that you can have up to 4 people riding for the same price, so it’s not a terrible deal for a group of 3 or 4. A taxi from the airport will usually take between 30 and 50 minutes to most hotels, depending on traffic.

Car Rental
Car rental is available at the airport with carriers such as Avis, Budget and National Car Rental.
