Pre-meeting trip to the Grand Canyon
If you have an interest in visiting the Grand Canyon with other
registrants before the workshop, please email Jim Pipe (jim.pipe@chw.edu)
to indicate your interest. Depending upon the number of interested
parties, some 12-passenger vans will be rented to depart Phoenix
Saturday, 24 February 2007:
- Vans leaving at noon on Saturday will visit sites of interest near
Flagstaff (e.g. Meteor Crater,
http://www.meteorcrater.com, Indian ruins, etc., depending on
interest), then stop in Flagstaff for dinner.
- Vans leaving at 15:00 on Saturday will drive straight to Flagstaff and
stop for dinner w/ passengers on the noon Vans.
We will arrive at Tusayan, near the Grand Canyon, Saturday night and
check into a hotel. Sunday morning, 25 February 2007, we will visit the
Grand Canyon until 14:00; you can hike or take busses along the rim, and
there will be time for partial hikes into the canyon for those who are
both fit and interested. The costs associated with this trip will not be
part of registration, and this pre-workshop trip is not connected with
ISMRM. Costs for the vans (expected around US$50/person roundtrip) and
gas (~500 miles roundtrip) will be split between those participating,
and the name of a hotel near the Grand Canyon will be suggested for
individuals to make their own reservations. If this trip is of interest,
you should arrange to fly into Phoenix Friday night or Saturday by 10:00
in the morning to make the van departing at noon, or Saturday by 13:00
to make the van leaving at 15:00.

You must be registered for the Workshop (or be a spouse/child of a
registrant) to join the Grand Canyon trip.
