Travel Awards

Priority will be given to junior conference attendees, including students, postdoctoral trainees, and junior faculty, who would benefit from this opportunity to learn about MRS methodology as it can be applied to psychiatric research or to learn how psychiatric research can benefit from improved MRS methodology.  However, more senior applicants may be established in other domains of research but are new to MRS as applied to psychiatric research. The organizing committee will review all of the applications and score them according to quality, goals, and financial need of the candidate.  Awards of $1,000, provided by the  National Institutes of Mental Health, will be made to up to twelve qualified applicants, with awards to  additional applicants possible as further funding is obtained.

1. Curriculum vitae or NIH-style biosketch

2. Statement of Long-Term Career Goals:  In up to 500 words, the applicant should state the long-term career goals and his/her own vision of the role that neuroimaging in general and MRS in particular will play. This summary should include a statement of the applicant’s motive for attending the workshop.

3. Letter of Support: The letter, up to one page in length, should indicate the current career stage of the applicant and evidence of the applicant’s work or motivation to work with MRS and psychiatric disorders.
