| OVERVIEW |
|
In the morning, this one day
course will provide an intermediate-level overview of
current MRI of the lower extremity, including the
anatomical basis and optimization of imaging protocols,
as well as an introduction into the most common
abnormalities of the corresponding region. The afternoon
session will aim at an advanced audience with experience
in MRI of the lower extremity. This course will instruct
about advanced MR techniques that are not yet in the
clinical mainstream, but are available or will soon
become available on clinical MR scanners, including coil
technology, advanced functional, dynamic and anatomical
imaging. |

| EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
|
Upon completion of the
morning session, participants should be able to:
- Describe the pertinent anatomy of the lower
extremity;
- Design MR Protocols according to specific
clinical needs; and
- List the most five most relevant abnormalities
and their MR appearance.

Upon completion of the
afternoon session, participants should be able to:
- Describe the physical principles of advanced MR
technology in assessment of disorders of the lower
extremity;
- Explain the potential application of advanced MR
technology in assessment of disorders of the lower
extremity; and
- Assess the limitations of advanced MR technology
in assessment of disorders of the lower extremity.
