OVERVIEW |
|
This one-day course will cover cutting
edge clinical areas for body MR radiologists looking to introduce or
improve the use of advanced methods into their practice. Lectures
will highlight current state-of-the-art protocols, and indications
and results of MRI in different disease processes involving liver,
kidneys, adrenals, pancreas, prostate and female pelvis. In
addition, there will be lectures highlighting body protocol
optimization, artifacts, 3T, and basics of diffusion imaging.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES |
Upon completion of this course
participants should be able to:
- Describe the indications and
results of MRI of liver, renal and adrenal masses;
- Explain current results of MRI
to diagnose and stage rectal cancer and uterine malignancies;
- Recognize challenges and review
solutions with the use of 3T systems applied to the abdomen and
pelvis;
- Recognize MR artifacts and
determine solutions for the MR artifacts encountered in the
abdomen and pelvis;
- Design body diffusion imaging
protocol; and
- Describe current results of
diffusion imaging for liver lesion detection and
characterization.
