18:55 Scientific Session

There are currently a number of different initiatives aiming to develop guidelines for safe working in MRI, develop training materials for this purpose, and/or define the requirements for professionals who provide MR safety advice. In Europe, this work is driven mainly by the imminent EMF Directive, which is likely to mandate the development of pan-European safety guidelines. But there is a wider interest in the MRI community to ensure that uniform safety standards apply wherever MRI is used. This session will bring together colleagues who are involved in these activities to share experiences and ideas and hopefully work towards a study group workshop on the subject in 2012.
