ORGANIZERS: Christine Chung, M.D. & Lynne S. Steinbach, M.D.
SKILL LEVEL: Basic to Intermediate
Wednesday, 11 May 2011

This two-hour course will discuss two main topics important for clinical MR imaging: characterization of bone and soft tissue tumors as well as an approach to bone marrow evaluation. Two experienced radiologists from different institutions will discuss these various aspects of tumor imaging and marrow evaluation.
Upon completion of this course participants should be able to:
Establish an approach to bone and soft tissue tumors that will generate a differential set of considerations;
Optimize imaging protocols for bone and soft tissue tumors;
Identify anatomic considerations for lesion characterization that may be important for the orthopedic surgeon;
Identify normal marrow age-specific marrow appearance; and
Establish how to distinguish pathologic marrow processes from variations.
