SUNRISE EDUCATIONAL COURSE
Clinical Intensive Course - Absolute Beginner’s Guide to Translational Neuroimaging
ORGANIZERS: Soonmee Cha, M.D., Marco Essig, M.D., Ph.D., Nadine J. Girard, M.D., Rakesh K. Gupta, M.D., Robia G. Pautler, Ph.D., Maria A. Rocca, M.D. & Stefan Sunaert, M.D., Ph.D.

SKILL LEVEL: Basic-Intermediate

OVERVIEW
In this four-hour course, speakers will consist of both basic researchers and clinicians. The topics to be covered include pre-clinical and clinical perspectives on:
Anatomical neuroimaging;
Perfusion and diffusion neuroimaging;
Functional MRI; and
Quantification and validation of neuroimaging datasets.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this course participants should be able to:
Explain the basics of anatomical and functional neuroimaging;
Explain the basics of perfusion and diffusion weighted MRI;
Describe recent advances in anatomical, functional and perfusion/diffusion neuroimaging;
Compare the challenges and benefits of anatomical imaging in preclinical and clinical settings;
Explain current methodologies to quantify and validate MRI neuroimaging datasets; and
Describe how preclinical and clinical neuroimaging interface towards translational applications.

AUDIENCE DESCRIPTION
This course is designed for physicists, biologists, technologists and physicians. The targeted audience consists of individuals at a beginner to intermediate level in the field of neuroimaging.
