OVERVIEW | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
In MRI, image artifacts come with the territory. In the daily clinical setting, it is not uncommon that radiologists, clinical support scientists and MRI technologists are asked to resolve or minimize such artifacts. In order to provide meaningful solutions, better understanding of the artifacts and the background physics is required. This two-hour course focuses on the origins of image artifacts seen in body MRI, as well as strategies for mitigating these artifacts. The course begins with an in-depth description of artifacts associated with diffusion-weighted imaging in the body, and is followed by a discussion of the causes and cures for a wide range of artifacts seen in body MRI. The artifacts will be discussed in a unique and interactive way to encourage audience participation in describing the physics behind the artifacts, their clinical significance and potential remedies.
TARGET AUDIENCE | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
This course is aimed at radiologists, clinical support scientists and MR technologists who are involved in body MRI and wish to learn about the causes and remedies for various image artifacts seen in body MRI.
