This 2 hour course will focus on the role of DWI, with a view to meeting current challenges in clinical diagnosis and management. The course is structured based on optimized DWI strategies by anatomic site. Examples of the incremental value of DWI in cancer diagnosis, therapeutic response assessment and tumor detection will be covered.
This course is designed for physicians (radiologists and oncologists) and for clinical support scientists who wish to gain knowledge concerning clinical problems and how DWI can aid in clinical cancer problem solving.

Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Describe various body diffusion weighted imaging protocols and recognize potential technical and clinical pitfalls; and
  • Apply body diffusion weighted imaging protocol to characterization of liver and renal lesions.
