ISMRM 21st Annual Meeting & Exhibition 20-26 April 2013 Salt Lake City, Utah, USA

SUNRISE EDUCATIONAL COURSE
Advanced MSK MRI Techniques with Clinical Applications
SKILL LEVEL: Advanced
ORGANIZER: Richard Kijowski, M.D. & William B. Morrison, M.D.

OVERVIEW
Various techniques for imaging the musculoskeletal system will be presented in detail; these include dynamic contrast enhancement (DCEMRI), imaging metal implants and prostheses, and 3D FSE with lectures ranging from sequence development to clinical applications. These morning sessions are intended to “bridge the gap” between laboratory research and patient care.

TARGET AUDIENCE
This course is directed to clinicians interested in applying emerging MR imaging techniques to musculoskeletal imaging as well as researchers seeking to enhance their knowledge of the clinical applications and impact of these techniques.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Implement the dynamic contrast enhancement technique in their practice for diagnosis of musculoskeletal disease;
  • Utilize emerging techniques for suppression of metal artifact in MSK applications; and
  • Integrate 3D FSE technique into clinical practice and recognize its use in MSK imaging.
