OVERVIEW
The course will provide an in-depth discussion of the use of imaging methods to evaluate spine disease with a special emphasis on conventional and emerging MRI techniques. The lectures will discuss the pathogenesis and clinical presentation of various spine disorders including degenerative disk disease, bone marrow diseases, bone infection, trauma, and sports related injury. The lectures will also describe the use of MRI and other imaging modalities for detecting and evaluating therapeutic response to spine disease.
 
TARGET AUDIENCE
“Spine Imaging” is designed for radiologists and clinical care providers who wish to update their knowledge on the use of MRI and other imaging modalities for evaluating common diseases of the spine.
 
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

As a result of attending this course, participants should be able to:

  • Implement imaging protocols to evaluate degenerative disc disease of the spine;
  • Apply imaging methods for evaluating bone marrow disease and infection of the spine; and
  • Implement imaging protocols to evaluate trauma and sports-related injury of the spine.
