Joint Annual Meeting ISMRM-ESMRMB 2014 10-16 May 2014 Milan, Italy

WEEKDAY EDUCATIONAL COURSE
Emerging Spine Techniques
SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate to Advanced
ORGANIZERS: David B. Hackney, M.D. & Pratik Mukherjee, M.D., Ph.D.
Wednesday, 14 May 2014

OVERVIEW
Although MRI methods in neuroscience are already well advanced, there are many aspects of spine, spinal cord, and spinal nerve physiology and disease processes still unaddressed or poorly discriminated. This series of lectures will outline 'hot topics' of particular promise in emerging spine MRI techniques.

TARGET AUDIENCE
Scientists, engineers, physicists, and advanced clinicians interested in cutting edge MRI applications in the neurosciences.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

As a result of attending this course, participants should be able to:

  • Apply high field and high resolution techniques in the spine;
  • Illustrate diagnostic utility of susceptibility-weighted imaging in the spine;
  • Use new techniques for spinal diffusion weighted imaging and DTI; and
  • Appraise emerging solutions to used to mitigate spine MR artifacts
