OVERVIEW
This two-hour course focuses on advanced MRI and MRCP techniques for the evaluation of pancreatic and biliary disease. A review of tailored protocols for biliary and pancreatic diseases will be discussed, as well as emerging methods for functional assessment of the bile ducts. A comparison of MR and CT strategies for pancreatic cancer staging will be reviewed, as well as imaging strategies to assess autoimmune diseases of the pancreas and bile ducts. All presentations feature didactic–interactive lectures using audience response technology.

TARGET AUDIENCE
This course is aimed at clinicians, imaging scientists and MR technologists interested in state of the art MRI and MRCP for evaluation of biliary and pancreatic disease.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

As a result of attending this course, participants should be able to:

  • Employ state of the art strategies of pancreatic and biliary imaging with MRI and MRCP;
  • Illustrate the capabilities and limitations of MRI / MRCP for diagnosing biliary and pancreatic disease; and
  • Compare the strength and weaknesses of MRI vs. CT for staging of pancreatic adenocarcinoma.
