Joint Annual Meeting ISMRM-ESMRMB 2014 10-16 May 2014 Milan, Italy

Molecular Imaging
SKILL LEVEL: Basic to Advanced
ORGANIZERS: Chris A. Flask, Ph.D. & Mark D. Pagel, Ph.D.
Saturday, 10 May 2014 (08:30 - 17:00)
This educational session is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of cellular and molecular MRI imaging.  This course incorporates some basics on relaxation theory, preparation of common cellular and molecular imaging agents, and detection and targeting of specific physiologic processes. The breadth of current and future applications for cellular and molecular imaging in medicine will also be presented. A session on the fundamentals and emergent concepts in hyperpolarization including agent preparation, pulse sequence design, and metabolic and emergent applications is also included.
M.D. and Ph.D. researchers with an interest in cellular and molecular imaging concepts and applications.

As a result of attending this course, participants should be able to:

  • Assess fundamental concepts and methods and future trends in the diverse field of cellular and molecular imaging;
  • Integrate effective practices of molecular imaging; and
  • Evaluate challenges in molecular imaging that may inspire new research studies and clinical translational activities.
