WEEKEND EDUCATIONAL COURSE
Clinical Cancer MRI: Case-Based
SKILL LEVEL: Basic to Intermediate
ORGANIZERS: Masoom A. Haider, M.D., F.R.C.P.C. & Elizabeth A. Morris, M.D., F.A.C.R.
Sunday, 11 May 2014 (08:15 - 17:15)

OVERVIEW
MRI has a major role in a number of cancer sites and is enabling personalized medicine. Recognition of the current clinical context for MRI, the unmet needs in cancer care and the link between cancer biology and MRI is the focus of this course. This will be illustrated through case-based learning.

TARGET AUDIENCE
Physicians, Imaging scientists/engineers, technologists and other health professionals with a developing need for utilizing MRI applications in cancer and personalized care.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

As a result of attending this course, participants should be able to:

  • Interpret oncologic imaging studies with an understanding of the common clinical problems that must be addressed;
  • Employ a better understanding of tumor biology and its relationship to imaging findings to improve image interpretation and assessment of therapeutic response;
  • Differentiate between those scenarios where imaging or other methods best address the clinical needs of cancer patients; and
  • Apply knowledge of unmet needs to develop imaging solutions to advance cancer patient care.
