Special Session

ORGANIZERS: Karla Miller, Udunna Anazodo, and Elizabeth Morris

Wednesday, 15 May 2019
Room 710A  19:00 - 21:00 Moderators:  Karla Miller

Session Number: EDI

Overview
At our 2018 Annual Meeting, the ISMRM made a commitment to addressing issues of equity, diversity and inclusivity (EDI) within our scientific Society. This Forum is the official venue for discussing how these topics affect the ISMRM. Everyone who is willing to participate in a constructive and respectful discussion is welcome: it is of crucial importance that we engage with members from all aspects of the rich demographics of our society.

The session will focus on EDI themes that cut across the range of diversity axes in the ISMRM, rather than focusing on any one demographic. We will address topics that are within the ISMRM’s remit to tackle, with the goal of identifying actionable changes that come out of the discussion. Speakers from the broader ISMRM membership will introduce how a given theme plays out for different members of our community, focusing wherever possible on data, facts and research. This will be followed by a panel discussion on each topic, including speakers and representatives of the ISMRM leadership. A networking reception will follow for more informal discussions.
