		Session Number: S-W-03 Overview This course will provide researchers a biology overview on animal models in neuroscience, cancer, inflammation, and cardiovascular medicine, followed by cutting-edge applications to study these disease areas. Target Audience Physicists beginning in vivo imaging, or needing a refresher on current techniques and animal models. Educational Objectives As a result of attending this course, participants should be able to: - Define appropriate animal models for probing various diseases; - Explain the underlying biology of these disease processes; and - Identify appropriate techniques for answering biological questions in neuroscience, inflammation, infectious disease, oncology, and cardiovascular medicine.
