Weekend Educational Session

Met & Unmet Needs in Musculoskeletal Imaging

Session Topic: Met & Unmet Needs in Musculoskeletal Imaging II
Session Sub-Topic: Met & Unmet Needs in Musculoskeletal Imaging II
Weekend Course
ORGANIZERS: Riccardo Lattanzi, Jung-Ah Choi, Kimberly Amrami, Miika Nieminen, Hiroshi Yoshioka
Saturday Parallel 1 Live Q&A Saturday, 8 August 202014:30 - 15:00 UTC Moderators: Yongxian Qian & Xiaojuan Li
Skill Level: Intermediate to Advanced

Session Number: WE-20B

Overview
The aim of this educational session is to bring together clinicians and scientists to learn about emerging advanced musculoskeletal imaging techniques. Six topics will be covered: ultra-high field MRI, three-dimensional MRI, quantitative musculoskeletal imaging, metal artifact reduction sequences (MARS), peripheral nerve imaging, and ultra-short TE imaging. For each of the six topics, a technical talk will be paired with a clinical talk to present the current status in technology development and clinical application and discuss the unmet needs for several musculoskeletal diseases.

Target Audience
Radiologists, clinicians, technologists, and scientists interested in learning about advanced musculoskeletal imaging techniques.

Educational Objectives
As a result of attending this course, participants should be able to:
- Summarize the current standard musculoskeletal imaging techniques;
- Describe advanced musculoskeletal imaging techniques;
- Discuss the current clinical applications of advanced musculoskeletal imaging techniques;
- Identify the current unmet imaging needs for several musculoskeletal diseases; and
- Discuss potential solutions based on novel/advanced imaging techniques.
