Overview
This session will explore the transformative potential of quantum computing in society, science, and medical diagnosis, with special focus on its applications in enhancing NMR/MRI-based diagnostics and image processing. Three experts will discuss the fundamental transition from classical bits to quantum qubits, emerging opportunities for clinical applications, and real-world case studies on how quantum technologies are being applied to enhance medicine and diagnostic workflows. The session bridges theoretical quantum advancements with clinical applications, offering insights into next-generation MR imaging.

Target Audience
• Clinicians, radiologists, technologists and medical imaging specialists; and
• MR physicists, AI/ML researchers, computer scientists, engineers and trainees at any career stage.

Educational Objectives
As a result of attending this course, participants should be able to:
• Appraise the potential of quantum computing algorithms as compared to classical computation models to advance problem-solving capacity across scientific research, medical imaging, and broader real-world applications that impact our society;
• Recognize challenges and future opportunities of quantum-inspired computational techniques for medical imaging and solving other pressing global problems; and
• Develop strategies to integrate quantum computing solutions into clinical workflows, addressing implementation challenges and ensuring compatibility with existing diagnostic systems.
